Innovation

  • Air navigation

DSNA conducts its research on several levels. It is involved in national projects and, at European level, in projects developed as part of the European SESAR research and innovation program, the technological pillar of the Single Sky. Involving all the sector's operational and industrial players, SESAR projects are preparing the future of air navigation in Europe by seeking to harmonize procedures and establish standards. DSNA is a founding member of SESAR 3 [2021, 2030].

Cybersecurity

The FranceQCI project, co-funded by the European Union, lays the foundations of a future French quantum communications infrastructure (QCI), as part of a future EuroQCI, with an interface to existing terrestrial communication networks.

This is to protect against threats from overpowered quantum computers able to break the classical asymmetric encryption.

FranceQCI brings together Orange (pilot), Thalès, Airbus, start-ups, research laboratories and DSNA (french Air Navigation) as an institutional end user.

DSNA thus participated in an exercise in 2025 in its innovation premises in Toulouse (Technical Department, DTI), with its use-case and its needs that are different from those of the banking or defense sector.

This experiment contributes to a definition of the European ICQ infrastructure.
